Pastor’s Blog for December

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Dear
Church Family & Friends,

It is hard to believe that it is already time to start using the above greetings once again.  It seems that this year has passed by very quickly.  Thank God for His grace and help in each passing year.

With December comes many things.  We gather with family to celebrate the holidays and to exchange gifts.  We put up the tree and other decorations, and we do lots of shopping.  (Or at least our wives do. Smile!)  With all of these good things going on around us it is sometimes easy to forget the real “reason for the season” – Jesus.

I want to give you some thoughts on keeping Christ at the center of this Christmas season.

1.      Spend time in God’s Word as a family.

2.      Be faithful to church as a family.

3.      Come to the Cantata and the Youth Christmas program.

4.      Invite others to church so that they can know the real meaning of Christmas.

5.      Do something kind for someone who will not expect it.

6.      Put Gospel tracts in all of your greeting cards and other mail.

7.      Give Christ a personal gift from yourself this year.

This list is not exhaustive, but it gets us started.  Make the most of your Christmas this year by making the most of Jesus.

In closing I want to remind you of some special dates coming up on our church calendar.

Sunday, December 9………. Cantata

Monday, December 10…… Cantata

Sunday December 16……… Youth Christmas Program

Merry Christmas,

Finley Cutshaw
